Eddie was a delight to work with during my years as the Administrative Secretary in the Department of Communication Studies at Marshall University.  He always greated me with a smile and usually had me laughing before the end of the day.  Please know the numerous individuals lives he touched and always in a positive way.  Prayers to all of you.

Simon, Erik, Abi, and Hannah,

Knowing your father has been such a blessing.  Even during his illness, he kept up his sense of humor.  When I told him I had to go home and read his book, as we were picking up his classes, while he was ill... he commented... don't worry... it is a small book! :)

During the last few years he has suffered from a number of health issues, but through it all, he clung to his strong faith.  I know he loved each of you as he would fondly tell stories of you as we would drive to and from faculty meetings.

He will be greatly missed.

He was probably my favorite professor of all time. He was fun, and kind, and generous, and so many positive words—which he taught us had meaning.

I was in the class when he fell and broke his hip-he wanted to keep teaching and just wait until after to go to the hospital. Such grace.

I’m very sorry for your loss. You were definitely blessed with a great person.
