From: Lu Ann South Oct 31 2019 7:47PM Eddie was a delight to work with during my years as the Administrative Secretary in the Department of Communication Studies at Marshall University. He always greated me with a smile and usually had me laughing before the end of the day. Please know the numerous individuals lives he touched and always in a positive way. Prayers to all of you. Knowing your father has been such a blessing. Even during his illness, he kept up his sense of humor. When I told him I had to go home and read his book, as we were picking up his classes, while he was ill... he commented... don't worry... it is a small book! :)
During the last few years he has suffered from a number of health issues, but through it all, he clung to his strong faith. I know he loved each of you as he would fondly tell stories of you as we would drive to and from faculty meetings.
He will be greatly missed.
From: Sarah Mathis Nov 5 2019 12:06AM He was probably my favorite professor of all time. He was fun, and kind, and generous, and so many positive words—which he taught us had meaning.
I was in the class when he fell and broke his hip-he wanted to keep teaching and just wait until after to go to the hospital. Such grace.
I’m very sorry for your loss. You were definitely blessed with a great person.
